CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL 2011

The Cheltenham National Hunt Festival 2010 was another memorable week of magnificent performances by horses, jockeys and trainers etched into the history books.

The major championship races produced drama and brilliance in equal measure, with the 67,716 crowd on Gold Cup day enjoying the supreme performance of Imperial Commander, as he fought tenaciously to overwhelm Denman, whose menacing intimidation had raised levels of tension and excitement several times during an incident-packed Gold Cup.

On to the Cheltenham Festival 2011 and the roar of the crowd as the tapes rise for the first race each year tells you everything you need to know - twelve months of waiting is over!

Over the course of the week, over 200,000 people will witness the action and soak up the atmosphere and across the country, well over 500 million pounds is wagered on the outcome of the 26 races.
