The Mens British No1 Bobsleigh team have partnered up with the VU Ltd to create a truly once in a lifetime experience. It offers you the unique opportunity to train and race with Olympians at the Olympic Games venue in Sestriere, Northern Italy and discover for yourself why Bobsleigh is nicknamed Formula One on Ice. Hosted by the most experienced bobsleigh racing team in Team GB history, Karl and Lee Johnston have represented Great Britain at four Olympic Games, 14 World Championships and are the reigning British Champions. The team also boasts a renowned chartered British physiotherapist who has worked with 5 different Olympic Gold Medallists, so rest assured that you are in the best possible hands.
In addition to its success at the highest level of elite sport, this formidable team has a proven track record in the provision of high profile bobsleigh racing events. The team co-ordinated and conducted the 'Ant versus Dec' Bobsleigh Racing Challenge as part of ITV1's Saturday Night Takeaway Show and have also been instrumental in the provision of bobsleigh experiences for the BBC's Blue Peter and ITV's Don't Try This At Home. The Experience
Unlike other bobsleigh experiences, Subzero Bobsleigh Racing are the only Bobsleigh team globally who offer 4 man full push start racing. Make no mistake - this is as close as you will ever get to the experience of competing in a World Cup Bobsleigh race. Starting with initial training in the multi million pound indoor facility - The Ice House, teams spend the morning walking the track followed by the crucial sprint start training.
Following training, groups are split into teams of 3 and compete against each other against the clock using all of the tracks split times, track commentary and speed cameras. A medal ceremony is held on the Olympic podium at the circuit followed by an evening awards presentation from the Olympic team.
Suggested Itinerary
Flying out on a Thursday early afternoon business class flight from London, you will be met by the team on arrival in Turin and transported in executive people carriers to the Grand Hotel, a traditional family run hotel and the best that Sestriere has to offer. Here you can relax in the spa and health club and unwind over a gourmet dinner before embarking on the following day's adrenaline fuelled adventures. The following morning, after enjoying a delicious breakfast overlooking the snow capped mountains you will be taken out by an experienced ex Team GB slalom skier and guide to explore the fabulous ski runs, before returning that afternoon to receive a full briefing and presentation from the GB Bobsleigh team. Every evening you will enjoy a four course dinner in the hotel's private wine cellar, which boasts hundreds of vintage wines and champagnes for you to choose from.
The next two days will be spent training with the GB team on the Olympic track. Numerous preparations will be made before you commence on your first real life high speed race against the clock. The following day will be spent improving your techniques and run times in the hands of true professionals. Monday will be your last day and you will have the chance to explore the area further with your private ski guide before returning to London aboard your business class flight.
